The Architectural Painter will be responsible for applying protective and decorative coats to wood doors to enhance their durability, resistance, and aesthetic appeal.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and performing other necessary pre-treatment processes.
  • Accurately mix and match paint according to customer specifications.
  • Skillfully apply paint coatings using spray guns and other application tools.
  • Inspect finished products for quality, thickness, and uniformity of coating.
  • Maintain equipment, perform regular cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal functioning.
  • Comply with all safety guidelines and regulations related to work area and materials handling.
  • Document processes, results, and work performed; maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with the production team to ensure timely completion of projects and adherence to schedules.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Work overtime as needed.


Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years related painting experience, including color mixing/matching required.
  • Experience with surface preparation, spray painting, and finishing processes preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and work orders.
  • Knowledge of spray-painting techniques and other paint application methods for wood materials.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.


Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking on concrete.
  • Pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and frequent lifting of heavy objects.
  • Must be able to move and lift up to 100 pounds unassisted.
  • Must be able to lift up to 150 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to push weights up to 500 pounds with a team.
  • Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of hand tools and equipment.
  • Visual acuity to inspect paint and products.
  • Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant.


Schedule: Monday through Friday, Day Shift
